It's not the length of time that matters - it's what goes into that time that counts
14 year old Sipho's* stay at Nazareth House was brief. He came to us for the love, peace and care that we could give him during the last month of his life.

And it's people like you who make that love and care possible, through your loving and generous gifts of support.
'Home' for Sipho was an overcrowded shack in an informal settlement. He was born with Alport Syndrome, a genetic condition which affects major organs.
Towards the end of last year, Sipho became very unwell. But that didn't stop his determination to run a big school race. He crawled over the finish line. But he finished!
When his boarding school closed for the summer holidays, Sipho came into our hospice. His kidneys were failing.
We did what we could to comfort Sipho and his family, as he suffered further organ failure, increased weakness, severe itching as toxins built up in his body, and nearly unmanageable nose bleeds.
Not once did we witness any irritability or complaint. His main concern was getting better in time for the new school term.
Sipho died two days before school re-opened.
He stole all our hearts – and would have stolen yours too.
Whether it's for a short time - or the rest of their lives - please will you play your part in providing love and care for the children, sick and aged people at Nazareth House?
Please make your contribution online now. And may God bless you for your kindness and compassion. |
